Bead Images Featured on the cover of The Flow Magazine

I was excited to find out that several of my glass bead photos (shown below) were featured on the cover and inside pages of the winter 2007 The Flow Magazine, in their 3rd Annual Gallery of Women in Glass. For more on The Flow, visit:

Dolly Ahles makes incredible, three-dimensional, floral beads. These one-of-a-kind lampworked glass creations can take up to an hour or more per bead. To see more of Dolly's work available for purchase visit:

Water in the Desert

I wanted to share some images of our hike out to Hackberry Springs a week ago. Amanda, myself and our friend Palmyre made the 3.5-hour trek in hopes of seeing some of the recent rain puddled up in the bedrock "tanks" along this trail. We were amazed to find instead a rushing, flowing, bubbling stream! (what we in Arizona usually call a river). The dry, dusty trail that we had hiked on just last November was submerged under nearly 5 feet of water in some places! The water gushed through the rock in white flumes, and sculpted the silt and sand into beautiful ripples. If you haven't been out to the Superstitions to see this seasonal influx of water, now's the time!
